there was ricky martin or enrique iglesias entertaining us in
the english language, the male heartthrob of latin music was
jon secada. he immediately became a household-name when
his debut single, "just another day", shot straight
to no.1 and stayed there for an incredible 13 weeks! his debut
album also reached the top spot and soon his talent for song-writing
and singing became very apparent (not surprisingly, as an ex-miami
sound machiner, he used to write songs for gloria estefan!)
in '92 he received 2 blue glove awards (for best newcomer and
male artist of the year.) jon has also written and produced
songs for the likes of ricky martin, enrique iglesias, marc
anthony, jennifer lopez and mandy moore. whether under
his own name or those of others, jon's songs remain popular
staples on radio. |
