Back in Neon?

(Is it just me or did AC/DC just copy Erasure with the cover for their latest album? )

News out of Sweden, is that ERIK GRÖNWALL, lead singer of H.E.A.T and in our book one of the greatest current vocalists in the world... has announced that he is leaving the band.
This IS sad news to us, since we got to know the band with Erik at the helm, and it s certainly not easy to replace him. However, if one person can replace him, it s original H.E.A.T vocalist KENNY LECKREMO!

Yup, Kenny s back! He fronted the band on their first two albums in the 00s, and was the singer of their 2009 Melodifestivalen-Eurovision attempt "1000 Miles". So despite the loss of Erik from the band, we KNOW Kenny is the ONE vocalist who could possibly take his place, and is certainly a good fit to take the band forward.

The move was Erik s choice, and it is clear they are parting on amicable terms. Erik said he was "leaving the group to pursue other interests".

So as we are saying goodbye to "Erik-H.e.a.t", here s what they achieved with him: FOURTEEN Top 10 hits, of which three reached #1 (and 11 reached the Top 5! )

And all 4 albums fronted by Erik hit the Top 10, with this year s "H.e.a.t II" still in the lead to become Album of the Year!

So wishing Erik all the best, and trusting we ll be seeing and hearing more from him. And certainly confident that the "new old-H.e.a.t" will continue to deliver the goods!

Wow, KYLIE does it again! After hearing earlier this year that the mighty Kylie was bringing out a "Disco" album, we knew that this would be her going back to what she does best ~ dance music. But it remained to be seen whether she could still dazzle and sound fresh enough at this stage of her career. The result: a resounding ABSOLUTELY!!

Preceded by the brilliant singles "Say Something" and "Magic", it became clear that this album would at least have a few definite highlights in her discography... but after a few spins of the whole album, it is clear that this album is a joyous TRIUMPH! In our book possibly her best since "Light Years" (and yes, even better than "Fever").
While perhaps the one "dud" I personally feel they could have done without, is "Monday Blues"... Kylie overwhelmingly SHINES on this album, and 2020 got another big belter!

And so this album effectively becomes Kylie s first album to hit #1 here since "Body Language" in 2003... (not counting hits compilations).
Since that album she has always come close though... 2007 s "X" and 2010 s "Aphrodite" were big sellers, peaking at #2 and 3 respectively, and then 2014 s "Kiss Me Once" and 2018 s "Golden" also hit #2 and 3.

Overall "Disco" becomes her seventh #1 album, and the fifth studio album No.1 (She also reached the top with 1988 s "Kylie", 2000 s "Light Years", and 2001 s "Fever").

Who would have guessed any of this when a young Kylie debuted with "I Should Be So Lucky" back in 1988?

"Say Something" also duly becomes her 7th #1 on the Singles Chart this week!
(The others were "Confide In Me" (1994), "Your Disco Needs You" and "Can t Get You Out Of My Head" (2001), "In My Arms" (2008), "Higher" w/ Taio Cruz (2011), and "Stop Me From Falling" in 2018.)
