Definitely a standout record this week ~ MUSE's new 'Simulation Theory'!

While I wasn't too taken with their previous one - 'Drones'... this one certainly picks it up a few notches again. It's a delectable "futuristic-80s" synth sound (without abandoning the guitars altogether) this time round. Think "Blade Runner"/"Tron"/Daft Punk... but with a slightly more experimental approach, though one that works! There are just enough hooks and riffs to make this a pleasing listen indeed! (And one I keep returning to!)

And further enhancing the whole "futuristic-80s" vibe, is the accompanying MUSIC VIDEOS they've unleashed (see Youtube!) Sci-fi, brilliant, effects-laden, and very entertaining! Makes this feel like almost a soundtrack album to a movie! (In this soundtrack-heavy year...)
I decided to just post 'Blockades' here, since it's kind of a "combo-video" of all the others they made, so it gives kind of a nice overview.

KT is SUCH a cool person! I'm in love with this song... and the new video is equally wonderful! (Wow ~ that little girl and her chaka sticks! )
Highest charting single for KT yet... Might this be the one to lift 'Dance Macabre' from its #1 position?

Introducing our new feature:

The BIGGEST NEWS this week, of course has to be, that GHOST's 'Dance Macabre' has broken the all-time Blue-Box record!!

Yup, this week, 'Dance Macabre' spent its TWENTIETH(!!) week at #1, making it the longest stay EVER at #1 on the Singles Chart!

The previous record-holder since 1997 was CELINE DION's 'My Heart Will Go On'... spending 19 consecutive weeks at #1 (yes, yes, I know... what can I say ~ I was on a "Titanic high" back then... ), which beat the previous record-holder ~ TINA ARENA's 'Chains' ~ an 18-week-No.1 in 1995. (It wasn't always ballads though, as previous leaders were INDECENT OBSESSION's 'Kiss Me' for 16 weeks in 1992, and SANDRA's 'Heaven Can Wait' for 15 in 1988.)

What makes the new winner even more impressive in my book, is that these 20 weeks have been non-consecutive... that means it fell down and climbed back up a few times.
Will it have more weeks at the top? Well, it doesn't show any sign yet of giving up the top spot... so we'll have to wait and see!
