Introducing our new feature:

The BIGGEST NEWS this week, of course has to be, that GHOST's 'Dance Macabre' has broken the all-time Blue-Box record!!

Yup, this week, 'Dance Macabre' spent its TWENTIETH(!!) week at #1, making it the longest stay EVER at #1 on the Singles Chart!

The previous record-holder since 1997 was CELINE DION's 'My Heart Will Go On'... spending 19 consecutive weeks at #1 (yes, yes, I know... what can I say ~ I was on a "Titanic high" back then... ), which beat the previous record-holder ~ TINA ARENA's 'Chains' ~ an 18-week-No.1 in 1995. (It wasn't always ballads though, as previous leaders were INDECENT OBSESSION's 'Kiss Me' for 16 weeks in 1992, and SANDRA's 'Heaven Can Wait' for 15 in 1988.)

What makes the new winner even more impressive in my book, is that these 20 weeks have been non-consecutive... that means it fell down and climbed back up a few times.
Will it have more weeks at the top? Well, it doesn't show any sign yet of giving up the top spot... so we'll have to wait and see!

Unexpectedly nice new album ~ 'Life' by BOY GEORGE & CULTURE CLUB!

A very pleasant mix of pop, soul, funk, reggae (of course), with a touch of rock and gospel; George and The Club sound really confident on 'Life', and the overall experience is quite a relaxing one, and doesn't feel "forced" at all. Highly recommended! (Also only their 2nd #1 ever following the #1 compilation 'At Worst - The Best Of' from decades ago. )

Another "For The Record" entry worth mentioning this week, is the 2nd record by THE STRUTS ~ 'Young & Dangerous', which is, as we expected, quite a pleasure!

With all the theatrics you'd expect from this Queen-soundalike band... (though let it be said they come into their own, and further distinguishes themselves with their own sound). This is glam rock-pop at its catchiest... nary a bad track in sight... Enjoy!

It's that time again! Hope you've been naughty this year!
Every year (lately) we make a HALLOWEEN PLAYLIST... Usually consisting of mostly Halloween "standards" (like 'Thriller', 'Ghostbusters' and 'Stay'), but also with some new editions (this year numbers 2, 4, 7 and 15). Know that this isn't a "Top 20" necessarily, it's just the running order of our Playlist for 2018.

1. Thriller - Michael Jackson

2. Ghost Performs Ghostbusters - WWIII

3. Stay - Shakespears Sister

4. Dance Macabre - Ghost

5. All You Zombies - Sandra

6. The Ghost Of You - Caro Emerald

7. "Stranger Things" Theme Song - C418

8. Black Cat - Janet Jackson

9. Smooth Criminal - Michael Jackson

10. The Invisible Man - Queen

11. Cry Wolf - a-ha

12. Scared - A1

13. This Is Halloween - Marilyn Manson

14. Lullaby - The Cure

15. Phantom Of The Dance Floor - Kiesza ft. Philippe Sly

16. No Monsters [Blue-Box Antichrist Edit] - Carman

17. Ghost Town - Adam Lambert

18. Mannequin Factory - Porcelain Black

19. Zombie - The Cranberries

20. Theme From "Friday The 13th Part 3" [Extended Version] - Hot Ice

Honest to "god", it had already been decided this song was returning to #1 again this week, and I was wishing just yesterday they would do a proper video for our song of the year, when I saw its announcement on Facebook this afternoon... and I think I shrieked like a little girl!

Dance Macabre! Finally! (And just in time for Halloween!) I love it!!
