Something that DEFINITELY needs a mention...: HEATH LEDGER's brilliant portrayal of The Joker in the new movie 'The Dark Knight'...

A very good movie, though I'd have to say the previous 'Batman Begins' was a better movie overall for me. This one is still totally worth it - mostly because of Heath's BRILLIANT performance... you have to see it to believe it! Without a doubt the best portrayal of a 'super-villain' in a movie EVER!
If ever anyone deserved an Oscar...!

#1's .... Just browsed through it and saw 2008' has already been posted. Is this being done on a monthly basis? Was glad to see ColdPlay made it on both the single and album charts. Also think Girls Aloud & Sergey L deserved their ' 4 minutes of fame' along with Madonna & Cheryl Crow. At the moment in seventh heaven about News Boys who also managed to make their mark on the sandy beaches of the Islands.

Glad you're agreeing with so many of the #1's Pet Shop Boy! The "#1's" section is actually updated every week. And yes - NEWSBOYS are enjoying quite a comeback on Blue-Box this year!

Talking of Islands... have either of you seen the Tv Series "Lost"? If not, it's highly recommendable. I have not enjoyed a tv series this much since '24'! It's about a group of people being stranded on a mysterious, unknown & dangerous Island after their plane crashed. Lots of action, mystery and the Supernatural. Enough given away.. The 4th season has just been released on dvd. So jump onto amazon, and order your copy 2day!

Yeah, I've seen 'Lost'... And despite having loved '24', I'm afraid 'Lost' didn't do it for me... but I KNOW I'm in the minority here, as most people I've heard from love it! As for me, I'll take the new 'Battlestar Gallactica' over it any day!

Have you seen only Season 1 & 2 ? Most people who didn't think much of it, have only seen season 1 & 2- reason being - the story line was dragging for too long, too many unanswered questions, and too little answers. The series almost 'lost' me as a fan. Then 6 months later the 3rd season was broadcasted, and without much motivation i watched it. Boy was i pleasantly surprised. Most questions were answered, while new ones were raised, and the bar on ' thrill' ,action ,mystery, adventure was lifted to another level.. Even if you're not a huge fan, i think S 3 is one of those timeless tv majic moments that sets a new standard for tv series.

Oh my universe! Ladies and gentlemen, announcing the comeback of the one and only... GRACE JONES!!

She's releasing 'Hurricane' - her first album in 19 years - in October, and this is the BRILLIANT video for the first single 'Corporate Cannibal'... weird is what she does, and it doesn't get weirder than this! Warning: this could well be the video of the year!

Question: what do the following songs have in common? Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl', Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', Britney's 'Toxic', Sugababes' 'About You Now', S Club 7's 'Never Had A Dream Come True' (to mention just a few)?

You guessed it - they're all written by the same songwriter: CATHY DENNIS!

She's the "new" Diane Warren (if you don't know who that is, you must have been living under a rock for the past few decades! - See our 'Discography' section on Diane, you'll see what I mean!) Get her as a songwriter, and you're almost guaranteed a hit! (Though what perhaps counts in Cathy's favour for me - over Diane - is that she specializes more in the 'uptempo poptastic' stuff, than the 'big ballads'... I think no one touches Diane there!)

And recently Cathy Dennis went into the record books as having penned the 1000th #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, when Katy Perry's 'I Kissed A Girl' moved into pole position.

She's also written hits for P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Janet Jackson, Celine Dion, Spice Girls, Will Young, and the list goes on.

We'll try and see if we can get a list of her 'hits' and add Cathy Dennis to our 'Discography' section soon...
