As a non-suspecting innocent I was browsing through new videos on the net today... when I discovered the new Rammstein video "Mann Gegen Mann" ("Man Against Man")...!

It seems 'Brokeback Mountain' must have opened the door for many gay-related themes, as this song also is about gay men (even though none of the band members are) - and the video certainly isn't very discreet about that! The video was directed by Jonas Ã…kerlund. In it, the entire band aside from Till (the singer) plays totally naked with only their instruments to cover them up. As Till only has a microphone, he wore a "latex diaper" as well as a long, black wig. The video alternates between shots of the band playing and a teeming mass of naked men. Towards the end, the band crowd surfs over the naked men and Till morphs into the "demon" that can be seen on the cover. I'm sure there's a message or metaphor in there, but not sure what it is.

Found a translation for this song in english:

Man Against Man

Destiny smiled on me
and gave me a present
Threw me on a warm star [1]
So close to the skin, so far from the eye
I take my destiny in my own hands
My desire is manned

Where the fresh water dies
because it taints itself in salt
I keep the Little Prince in mind
A king without a queen
When a woman is mistaken about me
then the bright world is confused

Man against man
My skin belongs to the gentlemen
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together
Man against man
I am the servant of two masters
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together

I am the corner of all rooms
I am the shadow of all trees
No link is missing in my chain [2]
when lust pulls from behind
My sex calls me a traitor [3]
I am the nightmare of all fathers

Man against man
My skin belongs to the gentlemen
Man against man
Birds of a feather flock together

Man against man
But my heart freezes on some days
Man against man
Cold tongues that beat there

Gay-ah [4]

I'm not interested in balance
The sun shines in my face
But my heart freezes on some days
Cold tongues that beat there

New boyband BILLIAM (?!) wisely marketing themselves especially to the gay market... which is quite fitting for the style of music as well (the quote "life in plastic, it's fantastic" comes to mind)... this was the ad for first single 'Beautiful Ones'...

Great song! I also think her new album 'Flavors Of Entanglement' is quite good... modern sounding, and there's not a bad track on it!

3 of the favourite movies I've seen in my life, were the 3 early 'Indiana Jones' movies... So I'm really excited about the new one which is starting later this month...

When I first heard of this new one, I thought "surely then HARRISON FORD won't be in it... 'cause he's got to be too old now, right?" So I was surprised to see he IS actually still in it, and SPIELBERG is also again directing it. They've done the "next best thing", and added rising young star SHIA LEBEOUF (of 'Transformers')... I won't be surprised if that is so he can continue the franchise in future movies...

Ok... saw it today... and I'm sorry to say in my opinion it was actually quite stupid... to the point where it got ridiculous.
This was more like a 'slapstick'- comedy than anything else... I mean where's the suspense, the thrills? This is INDIANA JONES?! (And the kid swinging through the jungle like he's Tarzan?? I mean C'MON!!)
