Watched the new Harry Potter movie last night, and was quite impressed... a really exciting, enjoyable movie. The actors have matured, and this sees the movie providing more emotional depth than its predecessors. Imo could be the best HP movie so far!

Other movies I saw recently:

'Transformers'... one word... WOW! The best CGI I have seen in any movie maybe EVER! Exciting, action-packed, and some great acting and funny moments. Some cheesy moments, but doesn't spoil the movie, and far outweighed by the positives in the movie.
Recommended!

'Shrek The 3rd'... good, though not as good as the previous two. Not sure if that's because it's a worse movie, or just because its 'novelty-value' is wearing off. Still worth the watch and enjoyable though, if not as memorable.

'Fantastic 4 - Rise of the Silver Surfer'... Almost hesitant to mention I went to see this ('cause which serious movie-goer would?), but as a comic fan I was always going to anyway. I actually enjoyed this one... probably because I'd put my expectations WAY LOW beforehand (so it was almost impossible to be disappointed! )
Definitely better than the first 'F4', and filled with cheese as we predicted, but for what it was - very lighthearted, good CGI and just meant to be a 'fun' movie - I enjoyed it.

(Others I hope to see soon: Die Hard 4, Ratatouille, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry and maybe Evan Almighty )

Seen " Die Hard 4.0 " earlier today and it was very good... Don't expect a good storyline or anything like that - it's quite predictable , but if you're just looking to spend a couple of hours watching John Maclaine shoot up the Baddies , you won't be dissapointed. No room for Character Development - not that we ever expected it from a Die Hard Movie .... (but frankly - John doesn't have much time for that sh** anyway ) . The visual effects were just brilliant and the action ...well ... edge of your seat stuff!!!! I guess the world will always pay to watch John Maclaine do it, just one more time...., wearing only his torn dirty T shirt and a Gun... In my book it Die Hard 4.0 gets a 8 out of 10

That annoying SPAM we all get sometimes about those "magical enlargements" etc... Well, the description in the one I received this morning really made me laugh out loud: "Your penis will make more shadow than the tree."
LOL!!

Recent Billboard news... (www.billboard.com):

Sean Garrett Says His Britney Collab Is 'Out Of Control'

Currently enjoying pop and R&B/hip-hop chart success with Enrique Inglesias' "Do You Know? (The Ping Pong Song)/Dimelo" and Chris Brown's "Wall to Wall," Sean "The Pen" Garrett has more to come. He's just finished up sessions with Britney Spears and is also working on songs for Usher, the Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger, Keyshia Cole and Ashlee Simpson.

Of his collaboration with Spears, he notes, "I've got this one record I've been holding for 10 months that everyone has tried to buy, but I stayed with Britney on it. I guarantee it will shake up the world. It's uptempo, out of control ... it's wowzers, produced by me and Bloodshy. I can't give the title yet, but the record is done and definitely what people want to hear from her."

Despite a songwriting resume that includes Usher's "Yeah!" and Brown's "Run It," Garrett -- who in May shared BMI songwriter of the year kudos with fellow songwriter Kara DioGuardi -- says he's still at the learning stage.

"Winning songwriter of the year made me feel like, wow, I've accomplished something. But I'm not a person who feels he knows everything. Now I'm getting the opportunity to really start writing incredible records. And it's not about making money. I don't do it for that. I grew up loving music. This is my dream."

Now see - there's another accomplished musician who seems to be "on top of his game" at the moment... could definitely teach Timbaland a thing or two about "humility"...

Well if the song is ANYTHING like Chris Brown's "Wall To Wall" it's sure going to be MASSIVE!

NOT! I EVEN downloaded the video (which will make its way on DVD to the 'Islands' soon).

"Wall To Wall" is currently at No. 22 on Ultra-Pop, and is bound to bullet to at least Top 5 next week.
All thanks, of course, to the delightful staff at "Fitness Factory" who'd almost played nothing else in the past couple of weeks.
It's also No. 2 on the Ultra-Pop Airplay Chart this week according to Last.FM - and, together with Kumbia Kings, it's on mp3-player repeat!

Yep, we love Chris Brown THAT much here in Waldia!

While were on a Billboard topic:
Isn't that "A Bay Bay" by Hurricane Chris just the most evil, despicable, low and annoyingly irritating piece of drivel to be released this year!

It's already Top 15 after only four weeks in the Hot 100, which means it's heading for the top!
But, what do we expect - it is the American Chart after all!

(Oh, and what I wanted to mention earlier on the 'phone that I forgot: Shop Boyz - Party Like A Rockstar is great in so many ways:

As a hip-hop/rap song it is just SO fabulously making fun of American rock music and the teenage wannabees. The line in the break when he raps "This is totally awesome dude" is hilarious because it's just SO NOT hip-hop!)

I'm with you on the Hurricane Chris song...
(though it doesn't take much to convince me any hip-hip song is drivel... )
And yes - the Shop Boys do the 'Party Like A Rockstar' thing well... I like how they've integrated the guitars with the song.

This news in on Duran Duran...

Duran Duran's new album will be called "Red Carpet Massacre", they have announced.

The group's first album since 2004's "Astronaut" is understood to be almost finished.

On their official website, they have stated that "Red Carpet Massacre" has been produced mostly by Nate 'Danja' Hills.

Also, super-producer Timbaland and Justin Timberlake are expected to feature on a pair of songs, named "Skin Divers" and "Falling Down".

There is though as yet no official release date for "Red Carpet Massacre".

Some interesting collaborations... looking forward to it.
