Wow... this is really a great time for any fan of 80's music... so many great artists making a comeback! The latest person to return (though in all fairness she's had quite a successful 90's as well) is... our favourite Go-Go girl, and possibly the prettiest girl in the world... BELINDA CARLISLE!

She is set to return to the spotlight in 2006, with the release of her long awaited 7th album "Voilà", her first studio album in ten years. The album is produced by John Renolds and it's a mix of French chanson and modern pop songs. "Voilà" is expected to be released on September 11, 2006 via Rykodisc.
Welcome back Belinda, it's about time!

This album has unfortunately been pushed back to January 7, 2007... apparently due to workload and promotion needed...

"One of the modern pop culture phenomena of our time... the STAR TREK franchise, celebrate its 40th anniversary this year...

Yes, it was 40 years ago - in 1966 - that Capt. Kirk and his crew on the Enterprise first went "where no one has gone before..."

There has since been several successful incarnations, carrying the late Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future through several TV series and no less than 10 movies!
After the original series, we had Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager (my personal favourite! ) and Star Trek: Enterprise grace our screens...

The 11th movie in the series is being planned for 2008, and there seems to be no stopping this powerful franchise... Here's to 40 years of Star Trekking, and looking forward to the next 40 as well...!

While Madonna dominated the world charts in the 80's already as one of pop's queens, Europe delivered another queen in the form of Germany's SANDRA... "Europe's answer to Madonna" scored hit after hit, and on the Blue-Box charts she was for a long time the undisputable queen - outperforming even the Material Girl herself!

Hits like 'Maria Magdalena', 'In The Heat Of The Night', 'Hi! Hi! Hi!', Everlasting Love', 'Heaven Can Wait' and 'Secret Land' became staples of our time!
And with producer/husband Michael Cretu (who went on to form Enigma with her) at the helm, her music evolved from album to album, and she become MUCH more than the 'one hit wonder' that many predicted she would in the beginning...

Although Sandra continued releasing her own material over the latter part of the 90's and the 00's (fewer and far in between though), she focused her attention and energies on her husband's ENIGMA project (she's the "whispering voice" one hears on tracks like 'Sadeness', 'Mea Culpa' and 'Principles Of Lust').

Well, it's with great excitement that we've learned about news of her plans to release not one, but TWO new albums soon!

During a concert in Poland last month, Sandra announced that after 8 vigorous months in the studio - her new album is finished (which will be the first since 2002's 'Wheel Of Time')!

The new album - to be titled 'THE ART OF LOVE' - will include a new duet track with DJ BoBo (Previous duet ''Secrets of Love'' was released on a single, promoting DJ BoBo's Greatest Hits compilation album... 'Secrets of Love' was a Top10 hit across Europe.)

80% of 'THE ART OF LOVE' was recorded with LIVE instruments this time! (*WOW*) This seems to be a transformation from pop-Sandra to rock-Sandra.. Sandra says this is a completely different album in terms of sound... A mature album, showcasing different aspects of her voice and performance...

Also:
• Sinead O'Connor wrote a track for Sandra and this will be on the new album!
• Contributions from Fabrice Cuidad, who wrote French lyrics for Sadeness and Mea Culpa (He is the mysterious David Fairstein, yeah!)
• Rick Knowles contributed to the new release as well (who wrote tracks for Belinda Carlisle, Dido, Madonna...)
• Billy Steinberg who wrote ''True Colors'' for Cindy Lauper has contributions on this brand new release...

And the other?
Apart from this release, we heard that Sandra's all-the-time greatest hits accapellas are sent to various DJ's and they are remixing these tracks for Sandra's new remix album coming soon as well.. (PS: She re-recorded 'Everlasting Love' as the master tape of that song was lost during a remix session in late 80s.)

Sandra says: "Well, at least the songs have much less keyboards, but lots more guitars. I got my inspirations from the early works of Genesis and Pink Floyd, with which i grew up. 80 percent of the music we recorded are with live instruments. There are lots of choirs. Sinead O´Connor wrote a song for me, another one comes from Maxi Priest. I have changed musically, and this album reflects that."

Some of the best news we've heard in a long time... can't wait!!

September 29th has been announced as the release date of the new Sandra album titled "Reflections". This is the remix album being released first.
On this album well known producers have apparently not just done remixes of Sandra's hits - they fully re-produced the songs to complete new ones.

Tracklisting: Around my heart, Stop for a minute, Hi! Hi! Hi!, Maria Magdalena, In the heat of the night, Heaven can wait, Everlasting love, Hiroshima, One more night, Secret land, Innocent love, We'll be together.

The release date for the completely new studio album titled "The Art Of Love" is unfortunately not yet scheduled. It depends on the success of the "Reflections" album. This album is fully produced by Jens Gad.

New single & album by KIM WILDE this summer
- Kim Wilde releases her first full length studio album in eleven years this summer. A single is released a few weeks beforehand.

Entitled 'Never say never', the new album will contain some remakes of old Kim Wilde songs plus new material. The release date is tentatively set for September 8.

Before the release of 'Never say never', a single is presented by EMI Germany. It is a remake of Kim Wilde's 1988 song 'You came'. The single was released to radio stations on July 14, with a cd-single release expected on August 18.

'Never say never' is Kim Wilde's first album since 'Now & forever', which was released in 1995. During a 15 year career between 1981 and 1996, Kim has released more than thirty singles and nine albums.

kimwilde.com will keep you up to date on further information when it is available. Watch that space!

I like the new 'You Came' a lot... really also loved the original! Two thirds of the song can be heard on EMI Germany's myspace page on www.myspace.com/officialkimwilde.
