So glad we discovered this wondrously beautiful schlager ballad!!

I've been meaning to post this since 2024's transition into 2025.... Well, better late than never, right?

Since his breakthrough in 2016, ALAN WALKER had been the runner-up (or close to it) so many times - on the Year-End Chart, without ever cracking the #1 spot. In 2024 that finally happened though!

His annual track-record went as follows:

2016: 'Faded' - #2 song of the year.
2017: 'Alone' - #2 song of the year.
2018: 'Ignite' (w/ K-391 & co.) - #3 song of the year.
2019: 'Play' (w/ K-391 & co.) - #3 song of the year.
2020: 'Alone pt. II' (w/ Ava Max) - #2 song of the year.

...And then a little fast forward to 2024, when 'Who I Am' (w/ Peder Elias & Putri Ariani) FINALLY cracked the top spot!

I guess it just shows one should never stop trying, right?

Hot on the heels of her first #1 single in 12 years (since 'The Greatest Thing'), LADY GAGA also gets her first #1 album this week in 14 years (since 'Born This Way')!

And while sales may not be quite on par with those early albums yet, we certainly think 'Mayhem' is her strongest album since said album. She herself has commented how the new album is an attempt to return to the sound of her first few, and we think it shows. Though nothing here quite reaches the highs of songs like 'Poker Face', 'Bad Romance' or 'Just Dance', it does succeed in being her most consistent set of entertaining songs since those days, and quite a few "nods" to her early days (those squelching electro sounds are certainly welcome!).

Early favourites (of the non-singles) of ours are 'Garden of Eden', 'Vanish Into You', 'Killah', 'Zombieboy', and especially 'Shadow of A Man'!

Such a pleasant surprise this past week, to get not only the new GHOST single, but also the announcement that their next album ~ 'Skeleta' ~ is getting released next month already!
